2026 — Our first season
More than 1,000 trees planted, plenty of family help and more weeds than we expected. Despite a challenging start, the vast majority of our trees are growing well. We plan to plant more each year.
We’re a young tree farm just north of Spruce Grove, growing landscape trees for future homes and yards. Our roots are here in Parkland, and we’re just getting started.
TREESTR started with a simple idea: make the land more beautiful. Then Tony and Tegan ordered a lot more trees than they’d planned.
With help from their families, they prepared the land and started planting. They didn’t know much about growing trees, but with more than 1,000 to get into the ground, they were about to learn. Somewhere along the way, a landscaping project became a tree farm.
They didn’t do it because it was easy. They did it because they thought it would be easy.
Then came the weeds. And the watering, tree tubes, row spacing and building access to a field without a road. Tony dug about 1,000 holes by hand while Tegan planted most of the trees. Then Tony hurt his back, and they had to rent an auger to get the rest in the ground. After that, he was laid up for the whole summer. While he recovered, the weeds kept growing, and all they could do was hope the trees would make it.
In October, they finally worked their way back through the greenery to see what had survived. The trees weren’t just growing. The vast majority were thriving.
That’s how TREESTR began: a family effort and a bigger adventure than anyone expected. Tony and Tegan plan to keep planting, keep learning and grow trees that will eventually make someone else’s yard more beautiful, too.
We’re growing spruce, various pines, birch and maple, among others, to eventually be dug and moved into new yards and landscapes.
A favourite for evergreen colour and year-round greenery.
Loved for their distinctive needles and the character they bring to a yard.
Valued for their attractive bark and light, airy appearance.
A familiar favourite for leafy shade and autumn colour.
